Reviews of The Y Factor by Liam Roberts
I recently spent some time with Liam Roberts and his wife at their home. Liam just released a fictional thriller The Y Factor with a bit of something for everyone. I rarely read fiction, but on the way home on the plane, I pulled it out and started digging in. Its excellent. I know that there are many readers here who love fiction. The Y Factor brings in science, Islamic issues, current events, mystery, and tops it off with some excellent military stuff. Lots of fun. Liam has been described the Christian Tom Clancy. So definitely check it out.

I have always been grateful for this generosity, and I am trying to improve at being consistent in taking the time to thank these wonderfully giving individuals in a public forum. “The Y Factor” by Liam Roberts is a fast-paced page-turner. The story of college friends who take the disappearance of one of their own seriously enough to stage a two-person manhunt is terrific - and thought-provoking - entertainment. This absolutely thrilling book is intelligently written and will bring the reader to a new level of thought. It seems authentically mediterranean in flavor with injected phrases and words. You want to see these characters succeed. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for them.
The scientific story is detailed with such logical plausibilities that plug right into scripture. This novel alone is so convincingly written that it could almost be used on its own to convince people that science and faith can blend! I haven’t finished the book, yet, but it is well worth the effort to savor. Once you get into the rhythm of the story and embrace the logic, the pages do move quickly. I can completely understand why Liam Roberts is compared with author Tom Clancy - He is that good - and that intelligent - of a writer!
As you all know, sometimes my oldest son snags a book before I do. Such was the case with the Y Factor. He devoured it! He said there was plenty of action to keep things moving. The thoughts of genetically engineered people is not so far-fetched in his mind, and he enjoyed the suspenseful build up to the final confrontation.
My son is a discerning reader when it comes to action thrillers, and he really did go through this one in a hurry. I'm only a few chapters in, but I can tell you that the writing is terrific and it moves along very quickly! I'm loving this one so far!! So although this is a brief departure from my usual review format, I am happy to recommend this on to you on my dear son's word. Check it out!!
If you are into action packed thrillers, this book is for you! Defianlty a fast paced page turner that will keep on the edge of your seat! I am eager to see what this author comes up with next!
